Reverend Joshua V. Powell is from Fayetteville NC and currently a Criminal Justice Major at N.C. A&T State University. He is the son of Dr. Q. Jimmel and LaShonda Williamson and has two siblings, Jonathon and Jayla. Joshua has always been actively involved in the church and had been a percussionist since the age of 3. He has also been a dynamic minister of gospel mime for over 14 years.
Joshua knew God had a special anointing on his life and boldly accepted the call into ministry in early 2013. He currently serves as youth pastor at Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church in Riegelwood, NC.
Joshua is a dynamic young leader and has always been involved in many school activities including the high school marching band, where he served as the captain of the drum line, the varsity baseball team, the concert chorus, and was a squadron commander in the JROTC program. Joshua was also involved in community organizations, such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) and Gentlemen of Distinction, which is a program developed at 71st High school to encourage young men to exemplify characteristics of leadership through appearance and attitude. While attending college, Joshua continues to minister and offer bible studies for fellow students. He is also active in student government associations and community service organizations.
